10 Lifestyle Habits to Reduce Your Risk of Stroke

1. Control your blood pressure

Studies have shown that there is a link between stroke and atrial fibrillation. This disease is a complication of hypertension that affects over 30% of the American adults. Therefore, it is recommended to have your blood pressure checked regularly, especially in case of hypertension.

2. Eat healthily

Good nutrition reduces the risk of stroke. Researchers reviewed 375 studies published between 1979 and 2004 to identify the type of diet that best helps prevent stroke. 10. Have good oral hygiene

Good oral hygiene is essential to prevent stroke according to the scientists because our saliva contains many bacteria. Among them, Streptococcus mutans, the bacterium responsible for tooth decay, which could play a role in the occurrence of stroke.
